How come, informal bir ifade. Nasıl oluyorda veya neden anlamına gelir.

What a piece of work he is olumludur, what a piece of work junk ise olumsuzdur junk'dan dolayı. Çok kayda değer insanlardan bahsederken piece of work diyebilirsin. İyi bir başarı da piece of work olabilir. Ortaya çıkan bir ürün de piece of work olabilir iyiyse. Anlam olumludur.

Sure is. Works full-time, three kids, always has dinner on table when her husband comes home, and always looks perfect. I don't know how she does it.

şimdi izlediğim filmde,çocuk çok kaba davranıyor kıza karşı ve çocuk soylu aileden.kız da kendi kendine diyor ki "what a piece of work he is?" diyor sinirlice.
burada sanki biraz da eleştiri var gibi geldi:(
gerçek anlamı belki senin dediğin gibdir evet :confused:

In the sentence you used, it would mean:
That's fine work. The meaning is that it is excellent.
There is another meaning though:
He's a real piece of work=He's a real jerk.(aptal,kazma anlamında harlde)
The opposite would be - What a piece of junk(rubbish)!

Not necessarily. It depends on the speaker's tone of voice, so the phrase can be either positive or negative.
