l am at the age of 36 and for years l have been listening the story of how bad country we have and how bad people we are.
But sometimes something change and nearly the same people tells how great country we are.
And l found the reason of changing the idea.
If there is something we have to do we easly blame the State or our own people.
But If there is something already done we love to be proud of it.

Please switch your language to English. This is an only English thread. Thanks

By the way, the germans who killed the jews during wwII are called ''Nazis'', not Germans. But if a Turkish person kills somebody not of his/ her own race, then they say ''The Turks are barbarians.'' and the most bizarre of these is, unfortunately, we ourselves do not find that strange..!

I think they are aware of all these facts, but somehow they don't want to admit this. In their newspapers, news etc they usually mention the Turkey they want, not the actual one, and are making effort to achieve their goal, I think.

They say living in Turkey much easier.
They told many disadvantages about the countries they live in or left.

Oh yes. In lise 2, we had a teacher from Canada, and she said in Canada, you can buy three ugly tomatoes for 1.50 liras. But in Turkey, you can buy 1 kilo for the same price... But nazar değdi, drought has started to show its effects, and I don't think the prices will be that low, from now on

In our society there is a taboo against any sort of criticism. Whenever you criticise something, you are named with different nouns such as "solcu, kemalist,şeriatçı and etc" So,sometimes it is better to be quiet than to speak. But how long will this situation last?

Firstly, citizens generally don't have any problems with each other. But the main problem is with the institutions. Some institutions see themselves as the owner of everything and they also see themselves as priviliged. And their numbers are really limited.

As a citizen of this country I am deprived of a lot of things.Because I am a citizen, and I am not a priviliged person.

As a teacher I am deprived of a lot of social rights, and I am working like a slave for this country. Whatever the state thinks is right must be accepted by me, because I don't have any choices or rights.

As a believer I am also deprived of some rights. The state interferes with all of my religious life. How I should get dressed, how I should believe and etc. This situation is valid for both believers or non-believers or it is valid for both Sunnis, Alevis and etc. İt isn't valid only for me. In modern societies, states don't interfere with people's beliefs.

As a citizen from the east of Turkey, I am having a lot of problems. Because of some unwanted events, I am seen as a potential guilty person. The state or state institutions (even sometimes citizens) can't differentiate this situation. Sometimes we can't tolerate each other. For example; this forum is a language forum. We are discussing every language. We have a lot of language sections in our forum. But I am sure, if we had a Kurdish language section, many of our members would stand agains it. Of course at present I am not in favour of such a section. because we have a long way which we must go. On the day when we understand each other and when all of us understand that this country belongs to all citizens living on it and every citizen has the same rights, then we can talk about our common values.

I am sure-as I said above- after this comment some members will name me with different names, but don't forget that all of us are citizens of this country and nobody must be priviliged. When we pay our taxes, we aren't seperated as Turkish,Kurdish,Çerkez and etc but we are named as the citizens of Turkish Republic.

Perhaps I have gone out of the real matter, if so please forgive me.
