Çokça umursadığım bir ÖSYM sorusu. "Sebep önce, sonuç sonra gerçekleşir ve tenseler de buna göre olmalıdır" ezberini bozuyor. Zira genel bir sebep cümlesi (present tense), geçmişte de aynı gerekçe var olacağından, geçmişteki bir sonuçla (past tense) birleşebilir.
İnsanlar acımasızdırlar, işte o yüzden binlerce savaşta milyonlarca cana kıydılar. (present, past birlikteliği) [present sebep, past sonuç]
Oksijensiz yaşayamayız, dolayısıyla yaşam ilk ortaya ancak gerekli atmosfer koşulları oluşunca ortaya çıkabildi. [present sebep, past sonuç]

OSYM tarihinde yanılmıyorsam, sebep cümelesi genel-geçerliliğe sahip olduğu için simple present tense ile yapılmış 1-2 soru daha var bu şekilde. Ayrıntılı açıklamalar için hocalarıma teşekkürler :)
